Day 149
After walking a mile from our camp at Hart's Pass, I heard gun shots. When I caught up with Blis and Trailname, they told me some teens were shooting at a deer from the road, in their truck, towards the trail, towards in their direction. We were quite upset. What a morning to start with.
It was a clear morning, but soon the clouds came, and by lunch, showers started to appear. Luckily it dissipated. As we ascended Rock Pass, the sun was blasting. The landscape was so beautiful. The last big switchbacks up Woody Pass was a surprise, and it was all adrenaline that helped me. After a quick break on top, we hiked on.
I was the last one to leave and it started to really sink in. I'm about ten miles away from the border. I gotta admit I got a bit teary eyed. It seemed like forever ago that I took my first step at the Mexican Border, and now I'm only a few hours away from Canada. We witnessed our last sunset on the trail as we made our way to Hopkins Lake. It was a delightfully warm, clear, starry night; with the company of PCT family and friends.
