Day 78

Caitlin's dad going up the first set of snow.

Onward to South Lake Tahoe from Sonora Pass.

Our stop in Bridgeport was a quick overnight, but it did allow us to send our bear canisters and ice axes home. We did keep our microspikes for safety because words from our friends ahead is that there is still quite a bit of snow.

Indigo's dad was done adventuring with us. However, Caitlin parents joined us for a few miles on the trail for a quick overnight. They got to see a little bit of what we go through everyday. It's interesting to know the viewpoint coming from people who hasn't been on a trail for months.

We got back on trail in the afternoon. Although it is technically a Nero, my body wasn't ready quite yet, as if it was expecting a full day of rest, a Zero. I lugged my tired legs up the mountain from Sonora Pass till we got to camp.

After the initial uphill, thankfully it was all downhill to camp.

Looking back South

Once we hit tree by the creek, we set camp. We didn't want Caitlin's parent to hike farther than they needed to back to Sonora Pass.

While setting up camp, James, from England, came in and camped with us. We ran into him a few times in the Sierra. Quite an interesting guy as he has a name for all the little trail families. He also stays up to midnight on the trail to write his blog and he does not hitch into towns, and thus do long food carries because of that.
