Day 86
Today was the third time on the trail that I felt as great as when I first started this journey at the Southern Terminus. I felt free. I felt as if I'm on my own journey.
It's a wonderful thing hiking in the morning enjoying nature... the blue sky, the towering trees, the colorful flowers, birds chirping, water flowing; it enveloped all my senses.
We hiked our own hike that morning, within our own little world, giving each other space. It has been awhile since been we were kind of on our because we needed to keep a close eye on each other in the dangerous snow and water crossings.
It allowed me to have that peaceful moment to reflect on my journey and how far I've come.
Such an amazing section of both the PCT and TRT (Tahoe Rim Trail)
Blis and Caitlin near at a lookout point
The flowers are blooming
And we're out of Desolation Wilderness just like that.
After lunch, we tackled a big switchback that brought us along a ridge overlooking the blue waters of Lake Tahoe on the East, and the snowy mountains on the West. We're finally starting to pick up miles, as we did a little over 26 miles today.
