Day 132

The gum wall in Seattle

Hikertrash in Seattle. I believe Seattle is a must stop for all thru hikers, especially at the famous Pike Place Market. Although being in a busy city can be overwhelming on the senses, even shocking, after being on the trail for months. However, it's also good because it gives you a sense of how you'll adapt back to normal life after.

Our first stop was non other than REI, where I exchanged my Altra Timp shoes for the same ones, as my pair started showing a blowout pattern on the inside mesh, similar to my Lone Peak 2.5 a year ago.

We then rode the bus to downtown, where we met Gilligan and Skipper, two Geman hikers who just finished the PCT. So cool! It's wonderful to see fellow hikers, especially those who have finished the journey.

We then explored Pike Place Market, where we fulfilled our cravings for seafood, had fresh doughnuts, and photo opportunity at the gum wall. Our last stop of the day was at a buffet Korean bbq. Oh we love buffets! It was so good. Since Bend, OR, I've gained a solid six pounds, and that's a good thing.

A relaxing view from the house we stayed in Seattle
