Day 142
Ferry ride to Chelan. We've decided that waiting out the snow storm, rather than risking it, was the intelligent decision. We've had really cold nights and mornings, and adding in rain and snow, all day, for several days, would make it quite a miserable last few days to end our journey. Other hikers were discussing their options, and some are just gonna go for it, as they have a timetable they gotta keep.
We are not in a hurry. Rather than spending the next few days in the lovely tiny town of Stehekin, Chelan was the better alternative, as it has the services we needed to plan the last leg of this journey, as well as the options to keep ourselves busy while off trail.
We took the fast ferry, though it was still a two hour ride, over the largest natural lake in Washington.
