Day 105
I've never been a morning person and it usually takes a few hours in the morning before my hiking pace picks up. This morning was no different. In fact I felt tired and lacking energy. My usual breakfast of hot tea, a Pro Bar, and a honey bun did not wake me up as it normally does.
I think my hiker hunger is still increasing. Even after hiking 7 miles, my mind and body weren't quite awake yet. I soon put on my earphones and turned the jam on and then finally, my body started to wake up. I was back and soon found myself going as fast as I can. I caught up with everyone at our break spot, where we normally stay for at least 15 mins. But after I filtered my water, I put my pack back on, and decided to start walking as I finish my bar. I was full of energy when I reached our lunch spot.
Today was a special day as Caitlin and Indigo celebrated their 1,000 mile journey. We were planning on doing another big mile day but there were tough sections so our night ended unexpectedly at a campsite without water, and most of us did not get water from the previous spring, resulting in rationing what we had left over. Otherwise it was another good day on the PCT.
