Day 79
I somewhat miss the high Sierra. Our bodies are still exhausted from it. With the changing scenery, the trail is easier, much less snow travel is involved. We're slowly picking up miles again but not close to our usual mileage before we entered the Sierra. And for once, we are actually managing to keep our feet dry for most of the day.
It feels so good not having to travel on so much snow.
Today was probably one of the earliest day we set camp, and it was really nice. We still managed to do 18 miles today so it was great. There's still hardly anyone on the trail so we enjoyed just being in nature, with nature.
With Asa Lake in the background, we had time to relax, stretch and even get massages around the campfire, while listening to relaxing music. And of course, dinner by the campfire is always the best.
