Day 37

Sleep deprived from the previous night, it was time to get going again on our normal day time schedule, before it gets too hot. This means hiking the Mojave desert under the sun.

Being in a wind farm, the cool wind helped a bit. After having an early lunch at the first water source of the day, I decided to tackle a big uphill section, before the heat intensified. It seemed like a never-ending uphill battle to the top. My sun umbrella became very useful as I paced myself without over exerting.

It was a long 23-mile day as we all made it to a road junction well after the sunset where trail angels Legend and Coppertone provided us with spaghetti, pork chop and cold soda. We then for the night and happily know we only have a very short following day.
