Day 89
Onward to Sierra City.
Before arriving to town, the gang went in for a quick swim at a pretty cool swimming hole just below a waterfall. We then walked into town, a very tiny town Sierra City is. We went to the general store to supplement our food supply, as well as a meaty lunch. A one pound burger was my biggest burger on the trail so far and it was delicious, along with an Oreo milkshake. Totally worth the one mile walk from the trail. Although looking back, ordering multiple burgers would have been better because a one pound burger patty just took a long time to cook. When one saves their hunger for a nice meaty town burger, every minute counts.
The amount of food I consumed made me just wanna take a nap, but we had a big climb ahead. Caffeine was the fix, and we hiked the 7.6 miles, with an elevation gain of 2,700 ft, with ease. We set camp surrounded with moss-covered towering trees, with the orange glow sunset in the background as we ate our dinner.
