Day 25
When one tends to feel a bit stagnant in town, the feet starts to get a bit itchy, that itch of wanting to get back to trail. And that's what I did. I bought an ankle compression to help with the swelling as well as stabilize my ankle. Although in reality I don't think it helps with the latter. But in my mind it does and that's all that matters.
So that afternoon, I decided to leave Wrightwood with some other hikers. The plan is only to get up halfway Mt. Baden-Powell in the cooler afternoon so it isn't bad.
As we were going up the switchbacks, the sun was starting to set. It is beautiful. And at that moment, it felt great to be on the trail again, to see the gorgeous lights, smell that fresh air, to hear the wind move the leaves.
At camp, we could see the city below. There were a few of us at camp, and there were some finagling going out that I did not get involved in.
