Day 109
A big, delicious french toast breakfast at the Seiad Valley Cafe powered us out of the valley, as we hiked about 8 miles uphill with an elevation gain of 4,500 ft. It was also a pretty dry section as the first water was flowing at a measly a liter per 5 minutes.
It was a hot and exposed section but thankfully the breeze was nice and cool. We saw some for fires not far from us. Multiple fires are definitely becoming more common, and thankfully so far it hasn't disrupted our journey. The next water was our lunch spot and it was a late lunch at 2pm. Water sources are becoming a lot less common now and it was dictating our plan for the day. We hauled some water at the last spring and settled for the night at an unmarked campsite a mile a half after. I must say we were exhausted.
