Day 119
Zero #4. Today was finally the day to do my resupply.
I needed a few days here in Bend to really think about my plans. After learning of additional fire closures, I know I made the right decision to skip from Crater Lake all the way to Timberline Lodge. It is a big skip which I will have to come back in the future to do.
The towns stops in Washington are quite small and requires sending all the food I needed, all the way to the end of this journey, to the Canadian border. Food planning is probably the most stressful part of doing a thru hike. Buying the food that fits my liking, as well as getting the right amount, requires planning; which I'm not very fond of. Planning requires estimating the number of miles per day, and making those miles, as to not ran out of food. A part of me just wanna hike, but I know this is all part of doing the trail.
That night, I laid out all the food on the bed, this forcing myself to be prepare everything and get everything done. It was a good feeling when I finished, because from here on, all I have to do is open the box, put it in my pack, and hike on.
