Day 44
It was a restless night cowboy camping on the top of the ridge after the second water cache, as the relentless wind, along with howling wind gusts, disturbed our peaceful rests. I was up awake for most of the night, tossing and turning, without any success at getting some shut eye. It was very cold that morning and I waited for the sun to make it's appearance before I got out of my sleeping bag. It was still a windy day, but nothing terrible like yesterday.
Pretty excited to see the highway in the distance
Getting excited to get to Lake Isabella
We made it to the highway, where Coppertone greeted us with trail magic once again at the campground. It was the third time and list last trail magic for this year. Truly a great person. It provided us a bit of a rest before the long hitch into town.
We then hitched to Lake Isabella, where the five of us managed to squeeze ourselves in a minivan filled with arts and crafts. We originally thought only one of us can fit. It was a wonderful time as we rewarded ourselves with pizza while watching the hockey game that night.
