Day 126
Me walking in the forest
It was a beautiful silence on this morning hike, a time that I really enjoy. No music playing, no people talking, not even the sound of insects buzzing. It was only disrupted with my foot steps as I made my way up the mountain.
The trail is graded pretty well, but hiking uphill for four hours to start your day is not an easy thing, even for our hiker legs, especially when carrying 13 miles worth of water. There are definitely more ups and downs in this state than Oregon. It makes the day interesting and also rewarding.
At the very top, we were greeted with a magnificent view of Mt. Adams. I've read Washington is the second most beautiful section of the trail and I'm starting to see why.
