Day 36
We headed out in the cool afternoon from the store in a small RV cramped with 20 hikers as we rumbled through the highway back to the trailhead. The anticipation was finally here, walking on the famous LA Aquaduct as the sun sets towards the mountains.
It was a tough 17 mile hike under the half-moon lit sky. The flat terrain is quite monotonous as the same joints and muscles took the pounding for several hours.
There's also the challenge of staying awake when we're normally asleep not long after the sun sets. Music and conversations kept us entertained. It was beautiful nonetheless as we hiked till 1am to the next water source, and our camp, where the aquaduct section ends and the wind farm began. I cannot imagine doing this during the day.
