Day 20

Frederick over Deep Creek Bridge

Welcome back to the desert.

It was a relatively easy downhill. Hiking in the desert brings in the serene beauty of the landscape as well as the intense heat it brings in the summer.

A water crossing at Deep Creek brought an opportunity to rest and soak in the cold water and relax in the shade. It was a great place for us hikers to take a little break on the sandy beach, take our shoes off and take a little soaking on the water. Perhaps get our feet a little clean(er) while at it.

I love this photo as well. It just shows that when you make life simple to what's really matter, it is a joy to live.

The rest of the day includes hiking along the top the Deep Creek Canyon, admiring the greenery down below.

Deep Creek Hot Spring was an enticing choice to camp (although camping is actually not allowed in the area) for the night but we decided to move on because there were a few local crowds overnighting in the area. We didn't feel like dealing with a party scene when all our body wanted was some good rest.

Rainbow Bridge

We were determined to camp by the creek and we found this secluded beach to cowboy camp on

After the hot spring, we were in search for a good place to camp. Guthook didn't give us much option but we were determined to find a good spot. And we did before darkness set it, right past the rainbow bridge, on a sandy beach. Amazing place.
