Day 6

Hiker trash heaven

Spending overnight at Julian provided a much needed moral boost from the intense heat of the past few days. Meeting and conversing with fellow thru hikers in town, and seeing how they're doing, was quite nice. It's good to hear mostly everyone are doing well.

Carmen, owner of the restaurant and trail angel, have such a big heart for us hikers.

Having some free ice cream the Mom's Pie house

Under the bridge at Scissors Crossing is where we wait out the heat

The hike out of Scissors Crossing is a hot one so I decided to wait till 6:30 in the afternoon as the sun sets.

I hiked in the moon lit sky, without the assistance of my headlamp, till 1am to a water cache placed by wonderful trail angels in this dry, waterless section of the PCT. It was quite nice hiking at night as I'm able to do more miles.

With the sun setting, it was time to hit the trail

I arrived at a nice campsite beside the trail exhausted, and I decided to cowboy camp once again under the beautiful stars. As soon as my body touch the sleeping pad, I was out.

Little to my knowledge that the area I camped was known for scorpions. And I did see one as I was packing up in the next morning.
