Day 146
It was a a great feeling knowing we were going back to the trail, that this was the last stretch to the finish line. We took the Lady of The Lake ferry back to Stehekin.
Upon arriving, we saw our good friends Isko, Fireweed and Dandelion. After picking up our resupply from the post office, it was time to get on the bus to take us back to the trailhead. We stopped for ten minutes at the infamous bakery in Stehekin, where I grabbed the Cinnamon Roll. It was great to see the Australian couple, Jen and Sam, at the bakery. The Blue Crew, the group of ladies I gave a ride to Crater Lake, was there as well. It was really great to see them. They boarded and the red bus was at max capacity. Seems like the bad weather has created a little bubble. This was the group of people that we'll be walking along with, and possibly finish with at the terminus. Blis and I agreed that this was a good group to finish with, and it was meant to be.
We were all excited as we took our first steps on the trail. The weather cooperated as well, cool and cloudy. There was still snow in the forecast, but we stayed at a low elevation that night. During dinner, we watched the dark clouds pass. It wasn't until we all got into our tents that sprinkles started dropping onto our tents.
