Day 57

Zero Day 1 in Bishop.

I opted to stay at the Hostel California where most hikers stay. The building is brightly colored, matched with retro looking bicycles (assembled with mismatched parts at times) parked outside. The bicycles are a great way to get around town, although most are within a block or so away. The atmosphere is great. Everyone is relaxed and chilled.

Just a day of relaxing in one of my favorite towns on the trail

Today was a total vacation from trail, meaning no talks of planning for the next section of the trail. Breakfast at the German bakery at Erick Schat's Bakkery was a treat for the senses. It just smells so good as soon as I walk in the place.
More hikers came down from the Sierra each day and it's great to see everyone making their journey safely as the past section gave us a good introduction of the difficulty that is ahead for us.

In the afternoon, Indigo and I listened to the wonderful tunes played on the guitar and banjo by Juniper and Airplane Mode, respectively. A trip back to the brewery brought another celebration for my friends that arrived today. I just love this place and this little trail town.

Such a lovely place to be with great people
