Day 111
Breakfast at Grouse Gap Shelter
We spent the night at Grouse Gap Shelter and it was our first time sleeping in a shelter on the trail. Unlike the Appalachian Trail, shelters on the PCT are quite uncommon. It was a nice place, with a fire pit in the middle, with a picnic table and then just the concrete floors for sleeping areas. It only had two walls, but it was by design as it blocked the cold wind all night and it offered us a beautiful view of the sunrise and Mt. Shasta.
It was great to sleep in a little bit. I made my breakfast in bed, as usual, and then we packed up and made our way to Callahan's. Blis' wife, Meg, greeted us with cold sodas, and Blis popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate our journey for making it to Oregon. It was a wonderful moment. This was also where our Tramily will split apart, as we all have different finish dates to reach the northern Terminus. We sadly hugged goodbye to Indigo and Caitlin during lunch at Callahan's. It might be goodbye on the trail, but our friendships will last beyond the PCT.
