Day 11
Thank you for the water cache Trail Angels!
A somewhat odd area to hike through, but there is water here. So there's that.
One day at time. That's the idea of hiking a long distance trail that takes a few months.
Thru hiking can take a mental toll later on and the little things in life help.
And nothing motivates me more than the prospect of getting some juicy burgers in town. So getting to Paradise Valley Cafe was on my mind from the moment I woke up. And man it was delicious! They say it's the best burger on trail, and I, without a doubt, agree! Worth the one mile, off trail, road walk!
Carolyn with her huge pack!
After some rest at Paradise, and going against our bodies wishes to just sit at the cafe forever, we decided to return to the trail and continued towards the fire closure. It was a beautiful section.
The trail goes thru big rock sections reminiscent of Joshua Tree National Park. It continues up until we reached the clouds.
The side trail to Cedar Springs was steep, but this is a fairly dry section, therefore was a must. We then continued hiking into the clouds.
We camped in a great spot, sheltered from the wind, as the clouds passed by through the night. It was gorgeous!
I must say, a pretty awesome site, misty and mysterious.
