Day 21
Camping on a sand beach, with a beautiful view of the starry sky, was a magnificent place in the canyon.
This particular section of the trail is a popular spot because of the hot springs. Unfortunately this also brings inappropriate behaviors as the granite walls along the trail are marked with graffiti. I will never understand why people visits the wilderness and have the need to ruin its beauty.
Mojave River Forks Dam
After leaving the Deep Creek canyon area, the trail wasn't as interesting, with the occasional view of the snow-covered peak (I believe Mt. San Antonio) in the distance.
But we had one thing to look forward to for tonight. Upon arriving at Silverwood Lake, Frederick and I had one thing in mind, pizza. We went all around the picnic areas and campground looking for other hikers, but nowhere to be found. Nor there were any secret campsites some would camp. So we went to the walk-in site, called Road House Pizza, pitched our tents, and within 20 mins, pizza, soda and beer was delivered to two hungry hiker trash. This was awesome!
Pizza, soda and beer for dinner! Wooop wooop!
