Day 10
What a glorious morning to wake up to. Cloudy sky initially but no rain. Perfect hiking weather! I also slept very well last night, and I was probably more tired than I thought.
I stopped over at Mike's Place, a trail angel in the middle of nowhere, as it is an important stop to get water. There, I also had some soda, watermelon, and cold chicken barbecue. There, I met some other thru hikers that actually went through the snow storm yesterday. They mentioned they should not have gone through because it was so cold that they couldn't feel their hands. I asked them what they thought when they passed our tents pitched on the side of the trail, and they replied, "we weren't thinking," and looking back "that was probably the smart idea." And the thing with backpacking, we all got our homes on our back, so there really is no need to push through bad weather, for just a few miles.
The remainder of the day was just enjoying the miles ahead. After getting water at Tule Spring, we kept walking a bit and found a beautiful, quiet, sandy canyon to camp in, with Comma and Carolyn.
