Day 134
Washington is beautiful.
When one thinks of this state, Seattle usually comes into mind. But not far from the big city, up in the mountains, the real beauty exists. Blis, who lived in Seattle for many years, expressed that he never knew this amazing wilderness existed.
As the clouds started to clear midday, the grand mountain ranges appeared before us. We said to ourselves that this is what's ahead of us, and we can't wait.
After lunch, we made our ascent up the mountain, and the clouds made their return. It brought along rain, which went on throughout the night. For a change, we night-hiked hiked in the rain, reaching camp very exhausted and cold. We pitched our tent, changed into our dry sleeping clothes, cooked and ate our warm meals. It didn't take long before the last sight of our headlamps disappeared into the darkness, and the only sound remained was the raindrops on my tent.
