Day 144

Food trip to Wenatchee, and a movie...

We needed to get out of the hotel to get our muscles moving and so we took a 70 minute bus ride to Wenatchee, the Apple Capital of the World, to fulfill our fast-food craving. It was a nice bus ride as it traveled alongside the Columbia River, and several fruit farms. This side of the mountain is a little dry, absent of the big, dense pine trees present on the trail. The weather here has been nice too; no rain, albeit a little cool. It can be a bit misleading because all the snow and bad weather drops on the mountains where the PCT is.

Wenatchee is a nice town, bigger than I expected. The public transportation made it an ease to get around. After brunch at two fast-food joints, we filled our always hungry belly with Pho soup. It was very good. A quick stop at the gear shop, then we headed to the historic Liberty Cinema in the downtown area. We finally watched Wonder Woman in the theater, which I've been itching to watch since Tehachapi, months ago. It was an awesome movie.

When we got back to Chelan, I grabbed some delicious street tacos for dinner from the food truck across the street. I'd say a pretty good day.
