Day 96
Walking by Boiling Springs Lake in Lassen National Park
The morning walk into Lassen National Park was beautiful, especially once the sun started rising. The morning fog, and the wet grass, created a wonderful gloomy effect that thankfully showed in the photos.
The sun rays on morning fog and the moist grass created a beautiful morning glow
Breakfast at Drakesbad Guest Ranch was a welcome surprise after entering Lassen National Park. Although we had to wait until after their "guests" finished, (as if we weren't a paying customer), it could possibly be our best breakfast on the trail so far. French toast, bacon, really good coffee, bread, fresh fruits and yogurt filled our hungry bellies. We sent a food resupply box here rather than stopping in Chester and it was definitely worth the stop. A free shower, along with free laundry (meaning washing our clothes in the shower as we shower) revitalized our spirits.
Despite getting a nice shower earlier today, it was so hot that Blis needed another soaking
We hiked through a a fire damaged section until we finally exited the park that afternoon.
It's been an exhausting two weeks for us, and our bodies are feeling it. A much needed zero is only a few days away, and I can't wait.

A favorite photo of mine. Indigo (left) and Caitlin (right). Note that this wasn't a staged photo.
