Day 92

Our early morning ascent brought us on top of Lookout Rock where layers of tree-covered mountains extended to the horizon. Early morning clouds hovered in the valleys while a cloud of smoke glazed the sky coming from the West. As we hiked, we noticed another fire that just recently started on the Eastern side. Planes and helicopters made their way above the mountains as they managed the fire. The hot and sunny weather did not help.

As we hiked farther, the fire on the East was getting considerably bigger.

On this section, we met a more new faces doing this incredible journey, including "Grandma," "Fieldtrip," and "Steele" who's hiking with his dog Kora. We ended this long day hiking almost 29 miles, at the last campsite we could pitch our tents before Belden. Well there are four of us on a one-tent campsite according to Guthook, so we had to make do fitting two tents.

As we ate dinner, we could hear the loud music from Belder, as well as the lights down glowing in the middle of the valley. The party was definitely happening down there, and we were glad we were up where we were.
