Day 83
After a relaxing morning, we gathered around the table and discussed the next section of the trail, all the way to Ashland, Oregon, 624 trail miles away. To reach the Northern Terminus before the winter season hits, we all knew we had to start doing bigger miles.
Going faster has its limits. I've learned before that getting longer miles does not necessarily mean hiking super fast, but hiking longer hours in the day. So the plan was to hike from dawn to dusk, along with shorted breaks.
We plan on attending PCT Days in Cascade Locks on August 18-20, but our timetable dictates we will not get there on time. Then there's also the total eclipse on the 21st. We can't wait to get to Oregon!
