Day 34

The section from Casa de Luna to Hikertown was through a recently opened burned area that was close for a few years. It was mostly exposed and the desert heat was starting to make an impact. A nice, shaded, small campground was the perfect setting for a lunch break and we soon found ourselves grabbing some nap time. It was quite nice to get some rest. The hike then continued and I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in the dense forest.

We all decided to settle at the Sawmill Campground for the night as it is quite nice with picnic tables. Getting water from the cistern was an interesting adventure as it is like fishing for water. This is just one of those day that you have to forget about pushing the miles. After enjoying our wonderful dinners, we tucked ourselves into our tents.

Such a lovely sunset
