Day 26

The warmth of the sun is always welcome in the cold mornings, even when it is just a little bit.

Hiker midnight comes in early for us, as well as getting up early. Though going uphill is not my ideal way to start the morning, it is nice to get the uphill out of the way.

The ridge with a view of the valley below as I got closer to Baden-Powell

The hike near the top of Baden-Powell is amazing as the trees have unique shapes into them.

On Mt Baden-Powell above the clouds

Summiting the peak was the highlight of the day and it was nice to get it done early on. The views are incredible as we were above the clouds, obstructing the view of Los Angeles. There seems to be always some clouds covering the city of angels.

Surf n' Turf and The Ambassador

A stop at the hot spring with fellow hikers was awesome. This particular hot spring seems to be special as we see day hikers with 5 gallon jugs getting water from here.

This is a blessing as the trail up ahead eventually leads back to the desert floor.

The desert really is a beautiful place to be. It's hot during the day and it's nice and cool at night. It has the extremes of temperatures. Here are elevation the heat of the sun was not as terrible yet. But soon we will reach the desert floor once again.
