Day 133
After having another wonderful home cooked meal from Bliss' mom, we left Seattle and headed to Snoqualmie Pass. Our quick zero allowed our body to rest and to have a clear mind going forward.
Upon getting back on the trail, it was great to see clouds covering the mountains, rather than the usual smoke. The cool weather also meant that the heat wave has finally passed. We picked up our resupply box at the Summit Inn, ate lunch, relaxed, and then we're finally back on trail.
The sights and sounds of the busy highway soon disappeared behind us. As we kept going up, we found ourselves hiking amongst the clouds.
Six miles in, at the Kendall Katwalk, visibility was about 25 feet, as clouds passed over the ridge. It was very cool, giving the effect that we're about to walk into the unknown.
This was the Washington that we've been expecting: wet and cold. We ate our dinner in our tent that night, as the misty clouds and strong winds, denied our usual lounging-around-while-having-dinner occasion.
